Fit for purpose
Sports bra design provides women with greater support during exercise. But with breasts coming in all shapes and sizes, how do we know the right support needed for a particular sport?
This is under scrutiny by Dr Rebecca Grant, Lauren Holmes, and Professor Andy Harland at Loughborough University. They have created camera based measures to track how females move during exercise, to see how speed, acceleration, and strain on the breasts can be managed.
With human factors, companies such as adidas can design sports bras to make exercise more engaging and comfortable for women.
