Delivering the Future
Royal Mail is often seen as a pillar of British life, with origins in the 1500s and iconic elements including monarchy-depicting stamps, red post boxes, and around 160,000 staff across the UK. In efforts to move towards more sustainable and environmentally friendly delivery methods, Royal Mail has recently adopted electric vehicles for deliveries.
Human factors influenced the design and roll-out of the now 5000-strong electric fleet. They are best used for areas that normal motor vehicles could not access but were found to be unsuitable on roads with speed limits above 30mph.
