Going for a run?
Humans can produce up to ten litres of sweat a day, and more when exercising. But where do we sweat the most? This was a question investigated by human factors researchers Professor George Havenith and Dr Simon Hodder at Loughborough University.
By mapping where we sweat most, Dr Hodder and Professor Havenith have collaborated with companies such as adidas to develop sports clothing. By designing t-shirts, shorts, and even socks with specific fabrics that keep athletes warmer in the cold and cooler in the heat, exercise remains comfortable and enjoyable.
